ABOUT THE GAME

What is THEO?

THEO (Exercise THErapy assistant dOgs) is an educational videogame developed within the Erasmus+ Sport project 101185240.

The game transforms research and children’s feedback into an engaging digital experience that promotes:

  • Healthy daily routines

  • Physical activity with dogs

  • Emotional wellbeing

  • Education for animal welfare

THEO encourages families, children and young people to understand the benefits of exercising together with their dogs in a fun and interactive way.

Why THEO?

THEO was created to:

  • Promote long-lasting healthy habits

  • Encourage physical activity with animals

  • Strengthen the human–dog bond

  • Raise awareness about responsible pet care

  • Support emotional and physical wellbeing

The game is part of a wider European initiative aiming to foster healthier lifestyles through sport and animal-assisted physical activity.

How it was developed

The videogame was developed under Work Package 2 of the THEO project.

Children and adolescents from several partner countries contributed ideas and feedback that were transformed into gameplay elements, ensuring that the game is:

  • Engaging

  • Age-appropriate

  • Research-based
